Methyl Isobutyl Ketone (MIBK) is a clear, colourless organic compound that belongs to the family of ketones. MIBK has a slightly sweet odour and a moderate evaporation rate. It is soluble in water and other organic solvents, making it a versatile solvent for a wide range of applications. MIBK is also used as a denaturant in the production of ethanol, as a chemical intermediate in the synthesis of various chemicals, and as a cleaning agent in the electronics industry.
