PGME is the methyl ether of propylene glycol, it is a water-soluble solvent with unique properties making it ideal for use in a wide range of applications, including those that require a high degree of solvency, quick evaporation, and good surface tension reduction.

PGME is an effective product for use in the paints and coatings industry, as well as being a good solvent, it can promote good film surfaces by maintaining dissolved resins during the evaporation process. PGME provides good solvency for a wide variety of resins including acrylic, epoxies, polyesters, nitrocellulose and polyurethanes. For cleaners they offer low toxicity, good coupling, wetting and penetration, and high solvency for polar and nonpolar materials.
